RE dance in Cairo

Ok, Cairo! I began with a small adult ballet class at the Russian Cultural Center (no website!) with a lovely woman named Raisa Melnikova (who's schedule I can't guarantee) 127 Tahrir St., Dokki. (opposite the cinema Dokki) Tel: 760-6371. They have a ballet school for children but there is one class for adults (three of us) though only one hour long and only twice a week. Their English is not very good, you need to go to the office in person to confirm the classes and schedule.

Otherwise I tried to organize members of the Cairo Ballet to give lessons. I took a few lessons from a young German dancer who has most likely moved on. There was another studio near Square Lebenon, but after all this fishing about what I can recommend is Sami Allouba's fitness center with different locations all over the city where i finally settled down with basic pilates and belly dancing for locals (no fancy dress-ups, just jeans, your hips, bare feet, and great music).

Ballet classes in Beirut? at the Caracalla Dance Company (http://www.caracalladance.com/home.html).. on the far side of town. Most of the taxi drivers know where it is but you have to go there to get the schedule as it changes every season (with no website). Classes are in the evenings as all the company dancers and teachers have to have day jobs to support their participation in the most famous dance company in Lebanon! Email them for class details at info@caracalladance.com.

I'm still looking for a good ballet class in Trento, Italy.

Ballet classes for adults in Rome:
NO problem.. IALS is the incredible dance school for walk in ballet classes and lots of other movement classes. My wonderful teacher was Giancarlo Stiscia. http://www.ials.org/
