NYC Greg Zane at Peridance

There is a wonderful alternative advanced beginner class on Tuesday and Thursday nights at Peridance on 13th st.  taught by Greg Zane.  He has a gentle personality leading you through a demanding barre.  The class is super satisfying and challenging.  The weekday evening slot (7-8:30) alternates with Peter Schabel's class on M, W, & TH.

Love ballet blogs from around the world. What kind of beginning classes do you suggest for a yoga person who has no previous ballet experience ?

Beginner ballet classes, but look around and find someone, a teacher, that you really respond to! You will know right away if you like ballet, if the movement and the music makes sense to you. It is a performing art so it is very different from yoga. See how it feels. For me it is much more satisfying than yoga, I did yoga for over five years and still do. I like the dance aspect. It is personality i suppose. Good luck.
